Welcome Nai Thai to Dunwoody!

Nick Goodman

I can hardly wait to tell you about my fantastic lunch today!   I was invited to lunch at Nai Thai by two lovely new friends that are partially responsible for bringing Nai Thai to Dunwoody.   Not only was the food simply delicious, but the owner is an absolute delight!   Nick Goodman and his family own and manage Nai Thai which is located in the former C’om Dunwoody spot.   I won’t even mention the place that came after C’om but I can assure you it is looong gone!

Nick told me that Nai Thai means “Mister” or “Sir” Thai in his native language of Thai.   The name is a tribute to his grandfather who had always wanted to own a restaurant but was too busy raising a big family and never had the time.   Nick and his family are paying tribute to him with the name.    Nick’s family also owns Little Thai which is next to Breadwinner Cafe in Sandy Springs.  Interestingly enough, Breadwinner will soon be his neighbor in Dunwoody.   (Side bar:  Current projections are for Dunwoody’s Breadwinner to open sometime close to Thanksgiving/Christmas)

The Nai Thai atmosphere is lovely, the service impeccable, and the food so very flavorful and delicious.   I’ll have to take Lauren soon so that she can help me figure out all the food adjectives to use!  I’m so excited for this new restaurant and hope everyone will go give it a try!

As I was about to leave, Nick excitedly informed our table that he JUST found out Nai Thai’s liquor license was approved while we were dining!   They’ll begin serving beer and wine tonight but have plans to expand their wine list to 30+ wines that pair well with Thai food plus a full bar in the coming weeks.

Nick was super helpful suggesting delicious entrees that met all my food allergy needs.   If you eat gluten free you are MORE THAN WELCOME at Nai Thai!

We shared basil rolls for an appetizer.  I devoured the Masaman salmon entree.   My friends enjoyed the most gorgeous coconut cake and claimed that they are planning to order a full cake for the next family holiday dessert!   I enjoyed homemade mango sorbet that was such a refreshing dessert and full of fresh mango bites.  I can’t wait to take my family back for another meal!
