What do you think of these design ideas for improvements at Brook Run Park?

We want to know what you think about the proposed park improvement designs for Brook Run Park.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The city is seeking public input on the latest design concepts for a proposed park design improvement plan for Brook Run Park.

The new park improvements are based on the amenities, needs, and desires identified through the Parks Master Plan public input process, public meetings and community surveys conducted over the past year and a half.

On May 21, 2018, city staff and the design team presented three initial design level options for the Phase I development of Brook Run Park. Following initial public feedback and input from City Council, the design team reconfigured the park improvement designs to reduce overall tree loss in the park, minimize hard surface installations, diminish the footprint of park improvement amenities, and ensure that the elements of the park are scaled, arranged and designed in a manner that is consistent with the Master Plan for Parks.

With the latest design concepts, specific upgrades planned for the Brook Run Park improvement include:

  1. A great lawn with a performance stage, terraced seating, expanded levels of open space, rest rooms and an upgraded event pavilion
  2. Two multi-use sports fields with a concession stand, overlook plaza, improved parking, rest rooms, and an added entrance from Barclay Drive
  3. A new covered picnic pavilion area, new restrooms, and additional parking

Please provide your input by clicking on “Take the Survey” at the Connect Dunwoody Page. You will be given information about the current concepts and an opportunity to comment on each.
