In light of McDaniel’ Leask’s generosity for Sandy Hook and also inspired by NBC’s Ann Curry’s #26acts of kindness, Sidney decided that for her 11th birthday on December 29th, she wanted her friends to bring a new toy to be donated to the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur in lieu of buying her a gift. Sidney and I delivered the toys as well as new toiletries and gently used clothes to the home about a week later.
The fabulously sweet employees were so excited, they posted Sidney’s photo on their Facebook page to thank her. They also asked us to put on our thinking caps for ways to help out the home and other charitable organizations. (Be sure to “like” them on Facebook!)
