BROOKHAVEN, GA (CBS46) –
DeKalb fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that occurred Saturday evening.
The fire took place at a home in the 1100 block of Wimberly Road in Brookhaven.
There was a large event taking place at the private home when it happened.
Neighbors know it as an unofficial block party to start the college football season.
Thousands of dollars are raised at the annual event for donations to hospitals.
Officials say one firefighter inhaled some smoke but is expected to recover soon.
None of the guests were injured , who numbered at least 100, including many small children. The house was severely damaged. See pictures and more at CBS46
