City of Dunwoody Continues to Support Economic Boom Through Urban Developments

Thriving Suburb Experiencing Tremendous Economic Growth, Providing Spaces for the Community to Work and Play and Welcoming New Businesses to the Area

Dunwoody, Ga. – March 8, 2022 – Dunwoody, Georgia, the growing suburb located just north of Atlanta, is finding innovative new ways to integrate business and leisure, announcing a variety of new developments that will be opening to meet the influx of business in the community. With updated office space, entertainment options and greenspace in several mixed-use developments, Dunwoody is continuing to transform into a thriving metropolitan area as it launches its Edge City 2.0 Redevelopment Plan that will create a vision for the future of Perimeter Center. A variety of new developments will contribute to Dunwoody’s continued economic growth including Carvana opening a campus in Perimeter Center, the addition of a new Publix at Perimeter Marketplace, and progress being made on two mixed-use developments – High Street Atlanta and Ashford Lane.

“We’ve seen an increase in economic growth in Dunwoody, and we’re thrilled to promote projects that will encourage more of it,” said Dunwoody Economic Development Director Michael Starling. “As the community grows, we recognize the need for gathering spaces, modern offices and entertainment venues, and we’re proud that we can provide that.”

Carvana Campus

Online used car retailer, Carvana, will increase its footprint in Georgia with an expanded campus at 236 Perimeter Center Parkway, subleasing Park Center 1 from State Farm. The addition of the company will bring 3,500 jobs to the area over the next few years in industries including engineering, customer care and product.

Ashford Lane

Coming summer 2022, Ashford Lane is one of Dunwoody’s newest mixed-use developments with retail, office space, restaurants and greenspace. Featuring charming streets and signature outdoor space nestled in Atlanta’s Perimeter Center, visitors and residents can gather in a vibrant and modern space for lunch breaks, after-work happy hours and more. Ashford Lane provides an oasis where visitors can savor al fresco dining or melt away stress with spa services and shopping, and local office workers will enjoy the opportunity to boost productivity in this synergistic and refreshing environment. The development will also include local favorites like Superica, Grana and Jeni’s Ice Cream.

High Street Groundbreaking

Following the trend of mixed-use developments offering a cohesive work and leisure experience, High Street is the long-awaited development located near Perimeter Mall. The $2 billion project will be developed in phases, with the first phase including retail, restaurants, living space, offices and greenspace. With the final phase spanning 10 blocks, High Street is set to include Puttshack, an upscale mini golf experience; a unique water feature; bicycle-friendly streets and fresh dining options in this walkable, energetic hub for restaurants and entertainment. Construction has started on the development and is moving swiftly as anticipation for the development continues to grow.

 Publix at Perimeter Marketplace

Dunwoody continues to provide the essential amenities needed by the community, including a new Publix at Perimeter Marketplace shopping center. This Publix brings more than 100 jobs to the city and offers a full-service bakery, pharmacy, deli, as well as seafood, meat and fresh produce departments. A perfect place for a lunch break, the new location also offers Wi-Fi and outdoor seating.

Edge City 2.0 Redevelopment Plan

With the amount of growth that the city is seeing, the Edge City 2.0 Redevelopment Plan will create a vision for the future of Dunwoody’s Perimeter Center, taking into consideration the thoughts of those who live and work in the community. On March 24, the city will host an Open House from 6-8 p.m. in the lobby of 400 Terraces North for members of the community to drop by and provide feedback that will be taken into consideration as the city builds a blueprint that will guide the growth of Perimeter Center.
