The Dunwoody High School Band Program needs your help!
We are in desperate need of new instruments! Our band program consists of approximately 150 talented and dedicated students, and some of these students practice and perform on instruments that are as old as the school itself.
We need to replace instruments and equipment such as concert baritones, sousaphones, marching drums, keyboards to replace the ones that are almost 50 years old, music electronics…the list goes on and on.
Despite all of this, our students received top awards such as Superior Rated Marching Band and Silver Division Champion Color Guard at marching band competitions. Our Concert Band also earned a Superior Rating at the District’s Large Group Performance Evaluation. Individual students also auditioned and were selected for District Honor Band and Georgia All-State Band.
The Dunwoody HS Band is highly respected and is crucial in building tomorrow’s leaders. However, with budget limitations, an increasing numbers of students, and more rigorous expectations, we are in desperate need of help as the support that we get from the DeKalb County School District is minimal and irregular at best.
