Soft skills that come pretty easily to those of us born with a typically developed brain are a challenge for those born with an autistic brain. But these skills can be taught. Since 2009, Autism Improvised has occupied a unique niche by providing a way for tweens through adults to develop social cognition and communication skills through the inherent fun of improv. We believe, and studies have shown, that lack of social communication skills are significant predictors of failure in the workforce, and dismal employment statistics bear that out. We also believe that the best way to learn is by having fun. Our purpose is to provide our students a safe and supportive space to practice and explore these social skills, grow self-confidence to think on their feet, and generalize these skills to their daily life as they become successful and productive members of the community.

We offer three programs. Shenanigans is creative fun-with-a-purpose improv for tweens through adults.

Our two transitions programs Code Breakers and Bright Paths use the foundation of improv for role play and discussion in real world scenarios. Code Breakers is topic-based in social communication for those 16-22+ who are looking beyond K12 to college, work, and interdependent living. For those who have completed UCLA's PEERS social skills program, Code Breakers is a great way to continue and reinforce that learning. (We're PEERS-certified.)

Bright Paths addresses issues unique to female young adults 16-30, guiding them to safe and healthy self-advocacy and self-realization.

Our classes meet in hosted locations throughout the greater Atlanta metro area and online. We accept waivers and family support funding.
