Dunwoody High Announces New Varsity Baseball Coach ~ Kyle Smith

Kyle Smith comes to us from Lambert High School, where he was a player on the 2014 State and National Championship team.  He coached there from 2018-2023 under State Champion and future Georgia Dugout Club Hallof Fame coaches Rick Howard and David Smart.  Along with coaching baseball, he coached basketball under Coach Scott Bracco (2x State champion at Dunwoody) and 2023 Region 6-7A Coach of the year, Clay Wages.  Coach Smith has also spent five years coaching travel baseball with Coach Tom Bass, who led the Dunwoody program for 18 years and brought the Wildcats a state championship in2007, while receiving a national rank of 18th in the country.

Kyle has been married to his wife Stephanie for four years, and they welcomed their first baby girl, Kinsley, this past September.  Kyle and his wife are both Special Education teachers and love working with their students to help them reach their goals while building relationships.  When not coaching baseball Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, golfing, going to the movies and reading.  He is looking forward to kicking off the 2023-2024 season.

Please Join the Dunwoody Diamond Club, Principle Bass, and Dunwoody High School in Congratulating the Smiths and welcoming them into the Dunwoody High School Family.

Welcome aboard! We are excited for the future Coach Kyle!
