Dunwoody High Splits Double Header With Alexander and plays game 3 at DHS at 2 PM TODAY (Saturday)

Below are updates from the DHS Gamechanger App.   Winner of today’s game 3 will move on to the next round.  The loser ends their season today.  Game 3 is at DHS at 2:00 PM and costs $7 per person.  Concession stand will be open!

Game 1

Offenses dominate as the Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity outscore Alexander High School 11-8

The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity and Alexander High School lit up the scoreboard on Friday as they combined for 19 runs. In the end, Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity won the offensive battle 11-8 in seven innings.

The teams combined for 20 hits, includi

ng eight extra base hits.

Paul Gies racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity. He doubled in the second inning and tripled in the third inning.

Even though Kevin Smith allowed eight runs over 5 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out seven, walked four and surrendered eight hits

CJ Fehribach couldn’t get it done on the mound for Alexander High School, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out none.

The top of the second saw Alexander High School take an early lead, 1-0. After Fehribach singled, Mike Wright doubled, plating Leon Agee.

The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity went up for good in the second, scoring seven runs on two doubles and two singles.

Alexander High School scored one run in the top of the fourth to cut its deficit to six. A groundout by Derrell Mims fueled Alexander High School’s comeback. The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity stopped the rally after Smith got Wright to ground out.

Two runs in the top of the fifth helped Alexander High School close its deficit to 8-4. An RBI single by Timothy Blalock and gave Alexander High School life. The Alexander High School threat came to an end when Smith finally got Fehribach to fly out.

The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity quickly matched Alexander High

School’s strong inning with a two-run inning of their own in the fifth. The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity scored on a sacrifice fly by Gies.

Four runs in the top of the sixth helped Alexander High School close its deficit to 10-8. An RBI single by Wright, a two-run single by Blalock, and an RBI triple by Aeneas Williams set off Alexander High School rally. Finally, Harrison Weatherly got Jason Hinchman to strike out to end the threat.

Game 2

The Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity come up short despite Steven Etcher‘s gem, lose 2-1 to Alexander High School

Steven Etcher allowed just two runs on Friday at Dunwoody High School, but the Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity couldn’t get the offense going in a 2-1 defeat to Alexander High School.

Morgan Foulks recorded the win for Alexander High School. He allowed one run over seven innings. Foulks struck out 13, walked two and gave up four hits.

Etcher couldn’t get it done on the hill for the Dunwoody Wildcats Varsity, taking a loss.

Alexander High School went up for good in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Jacob Schuster.
