Dunwoody illuminates Holiday Lights

Dunwoody’s Brook Run Park will shine with 85,000 lights and an Après-ski theme throughout December.

Dunwoody, GA – November 14, 2023 – Dunwoody Parks and Recreation will bring Holiday Lights back to Dunwoody’s Brook Run Park in December with a new theme for the fourth annual celebration. Opening night festivities will take place on Dec. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch will flip the switch on the lights at 6 p.m.

“Holiday Lights adds color and joy to the holiday season for residents and visitors alike,” said Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch. “I’m thrilled that we can continue to brighten the holiday season.”

This year’s opening night coincides with the 15th anniversary of the City of Dunwoody, which was incorporated on Dec. 1, 2008. The first 125 guests will receive special mugs, and the light display will include an illuminated anniversary logo.

Holiday Lights is a brilliant, walk-thru display at Brook Run Park that’s free and open to all to enjoy. This year’s display will feature 85,000 lights that will shine nightly in the park through Dec. 31. The theme is Après-ski with a giant snow globe and Adirondack chairs, ski lift photo ops, faux firepits, a faux snow factory and mountain for children to play on, and a glow-in-the-dark seesaw.

The Mega Tree will return with animated lights synched to holiday music. Opening night festivities will include free hot cocoa and character photo-ops beginning at 4 p.m. Concessions for purchase will be available by Top Job Beverages and DonutNV Atlanta.

Look for the festive mailbox starting Dec. 1. Letters will be accepted until noon on Dec. 21.
  2. Letters to Santa: Children can send messages and pictures to Santa by emailing Santa.Claus@dunwoodyga.gov. Santa will respond with a personalized, mailed letter all the way from the North Pole.
