Dunwoody resident Erin Zeigler has received a national recognition

ErinErin has been named a 2016 Bank of America Student Leader. The Student Leaders program is part of Bank of America’s Summer Youth Employment initiative, and recognizes community-minded high school students across the country. The program connects them to employment, skills development and service.

There are approximately 200 students nationwide in the Student Leaders program, Erin is one of five in Atlanta. As part of the Student Leaders experience, Erin is completing an eight-week internship at the East Lake Foundation where she learns about the management and operations of running a successful nonprofit organization. She also works with Drew Charter School as a teaching assistant for the school’s summer STEAM camp. Along with her work at Drew Charter School, Erin will volunteer with The First Tee of East Lake, a summer camp held for East Lake children to learn the game of golf. At the end of the summer, Erin will travel to Washington DC to meet with other Student Leaders from around the nation.

Erin, a rising senior at Dunwoody High School, has a remarkable resume, including two summers of volunteer work with St. Joseph’s hospital. She also qualified for a Presidential Service Award through the Girl Scouts of America and is a Gold Award recipient, one of the highest honors a Girl Scout can receive.
