Dunwoody’s Beloved Mack Hannah’s Suffering Has Ended

mack hannahNote from Audra:  Mack Hannah is celebrating with Jesus today.  I received numerous emails and texts from friends last night letting me know about our earthly loss and heaven’s gain.   Meanwhile here is the notice that Dunwoody Baptist Church’s current Pastor sent last night and the Memorial Service details, plus the notes from Mack’s last sermon found on Twitter for me by my son.

Dear DBC Family,

You may or may not have heard by now, but our Pastor, Mack Hannah is finally out of the suffering he has endured for the last few weeks. While we grieve his death, we celebrate the hope that we have as believers in the resurrected Christ. Paul’s words to the church at Thessalonica “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 NASB)

We believe that Mack is now in the presence of Jesus and that he is no longer in pain. We hurt as a congregation who loves Mack and Pattie and we have the incredible privilege of being together as we grieve. We will celebrate Mack’s life and ministry and I wanted you to know the details. I love you. I am privileged to be your pastor during a time that is difficult personally – I am encouraged as you are by the community that is Dunwoody Baptist Church. As we gather for Mack’s memorial service, we will cry together, laugh together, hug together and comfort together. We honor Mack by being the church.

Your Pastor and Friend,

Allen
