Some of the Brookhaven residents of the 2024 class of Leadership Perimeter (formerly Leadership Sandy Springs, but now includes Brookhaven and Dunwoody) are hosting a Prosecco Period Party, this Sunday, April 21.
Statistics shows that, in Georgia 1 in 5 women and girls between the ages of 12-44 lives below the poverty level, which contributes to:
- Reportedly, 1 in 4 students in the US missing class due to lack of access to period products; and
- Over one-third of low-income women report missing work due to lack of access to period products.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco, lite bites, music and giveaways, while collecting period product donations and packing period kits for girls that attend public schools located in the Brookhaven community. Additional donations will be given for use in the community supplies provided by the Latin American Association, which is also located in Brookhaven. (note: students/youth are welcome to participate. IDs will be checked ids so that only those 21 and older will be able to enjoy the Prosecco)
The event will be held this Sunday, April 21, from 2:00-5:00 pm., in the Arnette’s Chop Shop Courtyard located at 2700 Apple Valley Road. Local partners include the City of Brookhaven, the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, Arnette’s/Word of Mouth Restaurant Group, Chloe Prosecco and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
There are donation drop off locations at Brookhaven City Hall (4362 Peachtree Road) and the State Farm Insurance Office at 1442 Dresden Road. Donations can also be brought to the event and purchased off an Amazon Registry.
