Friday, October 22nd Sustainable Cities | Fikret Atalay
According to the United Nations, since 2007, more than half the world’s population has been living in cities, and that share is projected to rise to 60 percent by 2030. This increasing urbanization, along with changes to our environment, pose challenges to cities including our own that require urgent and impactful solutions. In this class, we will provide an overview of Drawdown Georgia, a project that aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the state by 2030 using proven and economically feasible solutions. We will discuss how these solutions can be applied to Dunwoody to create a more sustainable future, a more just economy, and a healthier population along the way.
