Thinking about going more green but don’t know where to start? Join us on four Fridays this fall to learn all about living more sustainably! Each class will be taught by an educator passionate guiding beginners and experts alike to more earth-friendly practices. There are many ways to begin to decrease your impact on the world around us. At Dunwoody Nature Center we will be focusing on ways to adopt sustainable practices in your day to day life. With subjects including sustainable landscapes, shopping, food, homes and cities, you can see how changes can be made starting small and working our way up.

Friday, October 15th Sustainable Homes | Fikret Atalay

Did you know that residential energy use is responsible for almost 25% of all energy consumption in the state of Georgia, and that per household electricity consumption is among the highest in the country? In this class, we will discuss the sources of power consumption in our homes, and what we can do to reduce our energy use while saving money in the process! We will also discuss other ways to make our homes more sustainable, such as recycling and composting, as well as the importance of pollinators.

Classes are $15 for nonmembers/$10 for members
