Local Dunwoody rising star

Mira Silverman in New 20th Century Fox Film, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul

Life has been very exciting and busy for 9 year old Dunwoody resident Mira Silverman. This 4th grade Galloway student will soon be appearing in the feature film Diary of a Wimpy Kid:The Long Haul starring Alicia Silverstone, Jason Drucker, Tom Everett Scott, and Charlie Wright. Two other local child actors, Wyatt and Dylan Walters, brothers from a set of triplets, play the part of Manny Heffley in the movie.

Silverman, who plays the part of the antagonist’s daughter, Brandi Beardo, said that she loved the experience of filming the movie. “it feels so random that I got this chance, especially considering that I filmed the audition while I was at sleep away camp over the summer, ” she said. ” I hated it ending. It was so fun!” she added.

Starting musical theater classes as the age of 5, Silverman instantly demonstrated a zest for performing. Currently represented by AMT in Atlanta and CESD in LA, Silverman has been casted in commercials, industrials, and has done some voiceover work before booking this first movie role. In addition to acting, she loves singing Broadway show tunes and is also a voracious reader and earns her “allowance” in books.

Diary of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is about a Heffley family road trip to attend Meemaw’s 90th birthday party. Things go hilariously off course thanks to Greg’s newest scheme to get to a video gaming convention. This family cross-country adventure turns into an experience the Heffleys will never forget. The PG family comedy opens in theaters on May 19.
