Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch will discuss the development and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines with two experts during a virtual community meeting on Dec 15.

Dunwoody, GA – December 7, 2020 – Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch will lead a virtual discussion about COVID-19 vaccines during her next Mayor’s Meetup on December 15 at 7 p.m. via Zoom and Facebook Live. Mayor Deutsch will be joined by Dr. Ruth Karron, who heads the Center for Immunization Research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Dr. Vik Kapil, Georgia Department of Public Health Medical Director and Director of Health Protection.

“I’m so grateful to Dr. Karron and Dr. Kapil for joining us at this important period in the pandemic,” said Mayor Deutsch. “Understanding how these vaccines were developed and how they’ll be distributed are critical to supporting the rollout and saving lives.”

Discussion topics will include the following: positive case trends and testing, vaccine trials and safety data, vaccine distribution plans and best practices. “The more we know, the more confidence we’ll have in the process,” added Deutsch. “Vaccines are key to getting back to school, back to work and back to the things we love and enjoy together.”
