Note from Audra: I experience this intersection on a daily basis and get tons of questions about its current state of appearance, so I thought I’d share the following news from the City of Dunwoody:
The City of Dunwoody began initial preparation work for the Mt Vernon Rd at Vermack Rd Intersection Improvement project. March construction activities include removing trees identified within the construction area in order to relocate utilities in the area. All work is subject to favorable weather conditions and initial tree clearing activities are expected to last through the end of March.
Lane closures and intermittent traffic disruptions will occur weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic whenever necessary construction activity is underway in the traffic lanes and the intersection will remain open during the construction process.
