The Old Fourth Ward Business Association Announces Inagural Fire in the 4th Festival

The Old Fourth Ward Business Association is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Fire in the 4th, a festival taking place Saturday May 2, 2015, from 3 to 10p.m. With the purpose of building awareness for the community and businesses of the Old Fourth Ward, as well as to raise funds for street signage, and public safety initiatives, Fire in the 4th is looking to be an annual staple for one of Atlanta’s most recognized neighborhoods. Paying homage to the historic Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 which devastated the Old Fourth Ward, the festival will celebrate its heritage through art displays, sculptures, fire installations and performances, live music, and more. A location for the festival will be announced in the coming months.

“With Fire in the 4th, we really wanted to introduce an event that was reflective of the dynamic rebirth of the Old Fourth Ward,” says O4WBA Event Chairman and Noni’s Restaurant owner Matt Rupert. “By using the the reverent lens of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, this event will celebrate all that makes this one of Atlanta’s most exciting neighborhoods.”

In conjunction with the announcement of the festival, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association invites the local art community to participate in a logo contest beginning Friday June 6, 2014. Winning submissions will be featured throughout the festival and included as the official logo on all materials advertising the Fire in the 4th Festival. The winner will also receive a $200 prize. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 7, 2014 with limit to one submission per person. The winner will be notified by August 8, 2014 and will be decided by a committee comprised of members of The Old Fourth Ward Business Association.
