Paint the Tower!

The iconic words Everything Will Be OK have been a symbol of positivity for the Dunwoody Community since 2009. These words have taken on a new purpose with the sale of yard signs benefiting local artists and art teachers financially impacted from gallery, studio, and school closings due to the coronavirus. Requests for these signs beyond the Dunwoody City Limits are said to have caused a logistical challenge to Create Dunwoody, and the Spruill Center for the Arts, who teamed together for this initiative.

“It’s apparent these words of encouragement are having a calming effect in our current environment,” said longtime Dunwoody resident, David Andersen.

“With all of this said, I propose to take this symbol of positivity to the next level, beyond yard signs and the side of the barn at the Spruill Center. Let’s paint these words of inspiration for all to see on the water tower on Ashford-Dunwoody Road.”

Andersen has asked residents to take time to email Dunwoody Mayor lynn.deutsch@dunwoodyga.gov with a vote of confidence. Since the tower is owned by DeKalb County, he’s also suggested emailing County Commissioner nancy@nancyjester.com to bring her on board. Andersen also asks proponents to enlist the support of family and friends, and share his Facebook post as well.

“With a groundswell, City Hall and the County will recognize the virtues of this initiative, and will take action on behalf of their constituents,” Andersen said. “This initiative of positivity is one all Dunwoody residents can rally behind during this time of uncertainty.”
