Rotary Club of Dunwoody Calls for Host Families for International Exchange Students

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody is issuing a heartfelt call
to action, seeking host families to welcome international exchange students into their homes. As part of the globally renowned Rotary Youth Exchange program, thousands of students are exchanged annually between 80+ countries, fostering cultural understanding and friendship on
a global scale.
“We believe in the transformative power of cultural exchange,” says Rick Woods, Past President of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. &”Hosting a Rotary International high school exchange student is not only an enriching experience for the entire family but also a unique opportunity to
contribute to global peace through cross-cultural understanding.”
Host families play a crucial role in providing shelter, guidance, and support for a 90-day period
to these young ambassadors. By opening their homes, families enable students to learn
English, attend a US high school, and immerse themselves in American culture, fulfilling dreams
shared by millions of teenagers worldwide.
“We’re not just seeking host families; We’re inviting community members to become part of a
global movement towards peace and understanding,” adds Woods.
Host families are not financially compensated but receive immeasurable rewards through the
experience of fostering lasting friendships and broadening their cultural horizons. The exchange
students will have their own insurance and pocket money, while the host family provides room
and board.
“We understand the responsibility that comes with hosting an exchange student," emphasizes
Woods. “; Host families are entrusted with the care and safety of these young ambassadors,
ensuring they feel welcomed and supported throughout their stay."

By opening your home, you are not just welcoming a student; you are  building bridges of
understanding and friendship that transcend borders,” concludes Woods. &”Together, let’s make
a difference in the world, one exchange at a time.”
