Spruill Center for the Arts announces Virtual Programming; seeks creative submissions to spruce up the Plaza

The Spruill Center for the Arts today announced a slate of virtual programs that begin Monday, April 13, 2020. These virtual demonstrations and classes are free to the public and will occur Monday through Friday each morning at 10:00. Classes will be hosted through the Spruill Center for the Arts website at www.spruillarts.org . Links to each class and demonstration will also be available through the arts center’s social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. “We were looking for a way to keep the community connected – and what better medium than through art,” said Spruill spokesperson Amy Gresens. “Spruill’s Education Director, Kristin Wilder, reached to our instructors who missed the social camaraderie and creative spirit of the classroom and were eager to participate.” “We may be apart, but we are certainly not alone,” added Wilder.

The Spruill Center for the Arts also announced a partnership with the City of Dunwoody to brighten up the plaza area that sits between the center and the Dunwoody branch of the DeKalb County library. Parks Director Brent Walker is seeking submissions from the community for a simple and creative way to paint the steps and concrete in the plaza with a design or easily executed mural. The winning entry will receive a $100 Visa gift card. Entrants can submit their design using the photo below to amothner@spruillarts.org  The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 17.
