STAGE DOOR THEATRE’S NEXT SHOW COMES FULL CIRCLE

Stage Door Theatre has started rehearsals for their next show, Circle Mirror Transformation by: Annie Baker. The show opens on Friday, April 1st and runs through Saturday, April 16th. The Obie award winning play is described by the New York Times as “absorbingly, unblinkingly and sharply funny!”

When four lost New Englanders who enroll in Marty’s six-week-long community-center drama class begin to experiment with harmless games, hearts are quietly torn apart, and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. A beautifully crafted diorama, a petri dish in which we see, with hilarious detail and clarity, the antic sadness of a motley quintet.

As part of the design for this show, Stage Door is partnering with artists from the Spruill Center for the Arts. Select instructors are loaning their handcrafted jewelry for costumes, as well as some art pieces to decorate the set of the community center, designed and built by technical director Lila Chapman. “We are thrilled to be working with our friends and neighbors at the Spruill Arts Center to bring the feeling of a real community center to life with Circle Mirror Transformation.” says Executive Director Justin Ball.

This show welcomes back Stage Door ensemble artists from its returning 2021-22 season ensemble like Bridget McCarthy, Dan Reichard, and Triumph Gardner, while also welcoming the additional talents of Nina Jones and Isabella Minter.
