The Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade

The Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade debuted on the Atlanta art scene in 2010, and has been growing ever since. It has grown from 1,200 participants and tailgaters along the parade route in 2012 to more than 70,000 people in 2017 for an awe-inspiring spectacle of lights and sounds.

2018 Lantern Parade Details

Saturday, September 22, 2018:
7:00 p.m. line-up
8:00 p.m. parade steps off

Parade begins on the Eastside Trail where it crosses Irwin Street / Lake Avenue and winds north to Piedmont Park. The parade is one-way and we ask that participants not walk against the flow of the parade!

It’s free and open to all to participate and walk in the parade – no registration necessary! But you can tell your friends about the Lantern Parade on facebook. We just ask that you bring a lantern or glowing object to carry (see the Game Book below). It’s all about you and your creativity!

We encourage our parade goers to find alternative means of arriving at the corridor, even though on-street parking may be a possibility in some areas. The closest MARTA stations are Inman Park and Midtown.
