TRYATHLON CHALLENGE AT LOCAL GREENSPACES

GREEN SPACES REWARD NATURE LOVERS WITH TRYATHLON CHALLENGE

The Dunwoody Nature Center is partnering with Livable Buckhead and Blue Heron Nature Preserve to challenge Atlanta-area residents to explore nature, try new programs, and win prize packages. The TRYATHLON Challenge invites nature lovers to attend an event at each participating organization any time between August and October of 2021; participants who attend an event each month are entered to win monthly prize baskets, and those who participate in at least one event a month for all three months will be entered to win a grand prize worth over $500.

“We’re continuing the success we’ve had providing a safe and welcoming green space to our neighbors,” adds Melody Harclerode, Executive Director at Blue Heron. Throughout the pandemic, green spaces have provided a safe haven for Atlanta residents. Denise Starling, Executive Director of Livable Buckhead, adds: “With the TRYATHLON Challenge, we encourage participants to enjoy nature in exciting new ways.”

With a generous donation from REI, the TRYATHLON Challenge offers a grand prize of an REI Half-Dome 2+ Person Tent, a one-year Georgia Parks pass, and memberships to all three participating green spaces. In addition, each month a winner will be selected to receive a swag package from a participating green space. “These incentives let our organizations build a collaborative spirit,” asserts Debbie Griffin, Interim Executive Director of Dunwoody Nature Center. “With the TRYATHLON Challenge, we are working together to serve all of metro Atlanta.”

Qualifying events include both free and paid events, including a butterfly meet-and-greet, an artist exhibition, and running clubs. For a list of all qualifying events, visit dunwoodynature.org/tryathlon/.
