Erica Holmes of Dunwoody Troop 28427 is having a backpack and school supplies event at Cross Cultural Ministries in Chamblee August 3,2018.
So far 32 troops from the Dunwoody Service Unit and 3 Leaves Unit helped pack a bag for this event, but more is needed!
How can you help? Pick up some extra supplies or an extra backpack and take it to Cross Cultural Ministries.
We are doing the big packing event Aug 1 so it would be great to receive supplies before Aug 1. Many local schools have reached out to Cross Cultural indicating they have students with back to school needs.
Your extra supplies would not only help students in need but aid local Girl Scout Erica Holmes on the final part of her Gold Award Project called:
Beyond the BackPack: Removing Barriers to Education. Erica will also be doing a presentation for those students who come for a backpack in English and Spanish on the importance of attending school, good study habits, and healthy eating.
Erica chose Cross Cultural because they do free tutoring and teach English in the community being reached.
