“Since our launch in September 2010, we have enjoyed the tremendous support of family, friends and beer lovers throughout the Southeast,” says Wild Heaven Craft Beers founder, Nick Purdy. “We’re proud to be able to welcome all those who have supported us to our new home.”
In anticipation of the opening of the Wild Heaven brewery, Brewmaster Eric Johnson has created two new beers that fall in with the excellent tradition previously established by Ode To Mercy, Invocation, Eschaton and Let There Be Light. Civilization Barleywine, built on the backbone of a classic English Barleywine with the addition of dried Prussian lemons, tart cherries, and cranberries, comes in at a bold and complex 12% ABV. Dark fruit abounds with a roasted goodness in each sip, revealing new layers as your goblet warms. And, with White Blackbird Saison you will find a Belgian Saison that is brewed with generous amounts of pink peppercorns to accentuate the herbal, earthy, spicy notes of the amazing yeast. Korean pears marinated in Chardonnay are added to fermentation along with French oak. The result is a host of savory flavors melding together into a wonderful new spin on a well-known style.
The Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery is located in Avondale Estates, seven miles east of Downtown Atlanta and just one mile from the Decatur Square where Wild Heaven launched nearly four years ago at the Brick Store Pub. The 8,500-square foot facility is outfitted with a 30-barrel brewing system, which holds a place in Georgia brewing history, having served both SweetWater Brewing Company and Terrapin Beer Company. The tasting room, featuring each of Wild Heaven’s beers and new one-off creations, will be the centerpiece of the new space. Additionally, “The Pearly Gates”, Johnson’s one-of-a-kind pilot brewing system, moved from his backyard in Winterville, Georgia to a prime spot adjacent to the main system. The system will allow for the tasting room to feature a constant rotation of experimental and exciting beers unavailable anywhere else.
