  1. Definitely a must read, and a must watch! Do not miss out on this book; once you’ve read it you wont want to miss out on the television series either.

  2. My favorite ever!!!! The entire series is awesome! It is wonderfully written and is quite a page turner. Very addictive. I have known several people whose loves were put on hold until they finished!

  3. I’ve read the book, several in the series actually. It was a little “historical romance” for a typical book club book but I enjoyed it. I’ve watched 3 episodes of the series and can’t really get into it although the scenery, costumes, etc are nicely done.

  4. I read this book about 15 yrs ago and have completed the entire series. I’ve really enjoyed this serie and have infact gone back and reread them again.

I have not watched the show and do not plan on watching it. I don’t think the TV show would do justice to the book

  5. you should read it! this is a fun, light, sexy, romantic, historical novel. you’ll love jamie; I did! my husband was watching the series and i walked into the room and immediately knew what i was watching. read about the author too. she’s a success story; and was a stay at home mom when she wrote this book.

  6. Hey Audra!
Not sure about this book, but I’m reading Something Other Than God, buy Jennifer Fulwiler for my All Saints book club and it is good so far!

  7. Want to read!! I’ve seen the first two episodes but haven’t had time yet to watch the rest. Waiting for a good cold rainy weekend to curl up and binge watch!

  8. The most addictive book series I have ever read. I have read the whole series twice (several years apart). I recommended it to my 66 year old mother who recently retired. She loved it and said she got nothing done for a couple months while she read all eight books! The author is an incredible storyteller.

  9. I’ve read all of this series & am currently reading the latest one. Love these books! Great stories with history mixed in. You’ll need to read them in order so you get the full picture. I highly recommend Diana Gabaldon.

  10. Absolutely terrific series!! The writing is good, the characters excellent, and the location – Scotland – beautiful. Started reading the first book in anticipation of the starz series; couldn’t put it down. Have watched the tv series twice; recommend it highly. Even my husband is hooked on the show, and agreed to renew Starz.

  11. Ditto what everyone else has said. I have not let myself start the next book in the series because this one was so addicting I stayed up way too late every night and let housework slide. I will let myself read more when I have a break in December. I have not seen the series.

  12. Got to read it! But beware. You won’t be able to put it down and there are quite a few more in the series!

  13. It took me a long time to finish. Loved the historical fiction part but felt like the frequent sex scenes took away from the main storyline.
