I wanted you to alert the folks on your list there seems to be a rash of snake bites this year. My wife was just bitten by a Copperhead on Tuesday while sweeping the driveway (she stepped on it at dusk). She has spent 3 days at the hospital and the swelling from the venom has not gone down, it’s past her knee cap. The snake was small (10 inches), she killed it and took it with her to the ER so they could identify it.
Why I mention this is that a neighbor was also bitten in late July, same scenario, on driveway at dusk, he stepped on the Copperhead also. This is the third bite in 6 weeks that I have heard about in the Dunwoody area, please alert people to watch where they step, it seems Copperheads will only bite if stepped on. Looking around will certainly eliminate the pain and process of healing from a snake bit.
