Everyone has a favorite pair of jeans. You know the ones that fit perfectly and make you feel awesome when you wear them? The ones you hold on to even when they don’t fit anymore because you keep hoping that someday you’ll be able to get those puppies over your thighs again. Mine are a pair of Joe’s Jeans that I bought about 10 years ago. They are perfectly faded and broken in, with just a bit of fraying at the hems. So soft that I could sleep in them. Like butter. Sadly, they have been living at the bottom of my dresser drawer for the past 5 years. Untouched. Probably missing me. Hitting your 40’s will do that. Your metabolism slows down and all of a sudden you can no longer button that fly! Even though you walk every day. Even when you (try to) cut calories. Middle age spread is a bi**h. So, you pack away the jeans and the years go by. But you know, I’ve been working out with Audra, Jose and Denise for a year and a half now, and I can feel a difference in my body. It happened gradually, but it definitely happened. Why not try on The Jeans? If they fit, great! If not, then I can donate them. My body is strong and healthy and I’ll be happy either way. So, I dug them out of the bottom of the drawer and put them on…
THEY FIT!!! And they fit even better than they did 10 years ago! And here’s the thing…I weigh more than I did when I bought them. Let me repeat that…I weigh MORE than I did when I bought them. About 7 pounds more. This is a result of strength training. The things that I have learned from my trainers have changed my life. My jeans and I are back together again! And they will have the spot on the TOP of the dresser drawer forever.
