Dunwoody Woman’s Club 50th Anniversary Home Tour & How You Can Become a Woman’s Club Member!

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

My parents were in town for about 24 hours to tour the Fox Theatre and attend the Dunwoody Woman’s Club Home Tour. We bought our tickets in advance to save $5 each.  We picked up our ticket booklet at Southern Comforts the morning of the tour and ran into Mayor Lynn Deutsch who was about to give a “kick off speech”!

There were only 3 homes on the tour this year but all were so beautiful.  Next year they hope to be able to bring back a fourth home but will need more volunteers!  Lynn told me there’s now an evening session for the Woman’s Club so maybe some of the younger working moms can get involved.

Break away for lunch and learn about service opportunities with the GFWC Dunwoody Woman’s Club.

GFWC Dunwoody Woman’s Club (DWC) has served the community since 1971 and was instrumental in the founding of the Dunwoody Nature Center, Spruill Center for the Arts, Stage Door Theatre and the 4th of July Parade. The club is hosting a luncheon meeting to give women in the community an opportunity to learn more about the club and hear a guest speaker from the Dunwoody Police Department.

  • When: Thursday, October 19th at 11:30 am
  • Where: Vintage Pizzeria located at 5510 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., Dunwoody.
  • What: Learn more about the club’s programs and community projects and hear a guest speaker from the Dunwoody Police Department who will talk about fraud and scams against Georgia citizens. According to the FBI, Georgia ranked in the top 10 for losses of nearly $79 million, the ninth-highest state total in 2022.

If you have never attended a DWC meeting or function, enjoy a complimentary meal at this luncheon meeting. Otherwise cost is $12.45 for pizza, salad, soft drink or tea. Deadline is October 12. For your reservation, please contact Dottie D’Angelo at DottieAtlanta@gmail.com.

Back to the home tour….I wasn’t supposed to take photos and someone may ask me to remove these but I snuck a few so here goes …
