Hammocks Trading Company….an impromptu restaurant review by Audra

hammocksNote from Audra:  This is not a paid advertisement.   I just loved this place so much that I had to share with The Aha! Connection.

I’ve been to Hammocks three times now and every time I go,  I say I’m going to sit down and write to y’all about it.  After the most delicious Easter Brunch that I’ve ever had,  I decided that I could no longer wait to share this restaurant with y’all!    My dear friend Tony Riley told me about Hammocks a few months ago.   He told me that I would LOVE it and he was right.   The food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable.  It’s located very near North Springs High School just south of Dalrymple on Roswell Road.   I first went for an early dinner before baseball practice with my teenager.   We couldn’t wait to take Dad and brother so we all four went back within days and everyone loved their food.  My husband is famous for saying “of course it was great…look at how much it costs” but in this case…he said….”the food was great and the bill didn’t kill us”.    We had grandparents visiting this weekend for Easter and chose Hammocks for our Easter Brunch meal.   All six of us had something different and every single one of us loved our meal!  Our waitress, Angela, was delightful!

Here’s the scoop:  Executive chef and partner William Sigley spent seven years in Las Vegas working under Todd English and Wolfgang Puck before moving to Atlanta to lead the kitchens of Aquanox, Aja, and Bone’s.  Co-owner and front-of-the-house manager Jason Sheetz was once general manager of Twist and area director of other Here 2 Serve restaurants such as Prime and Goldfish.  Jason also grew up in Sandy Springs!

Click here for the dinner menu.   I can personally recommend the HTC Salad, the Spicy Pickled Shrimp (awesome), the sea scallops and the best grits I’ve ever had (turnpike white cheddar grits).   Their food theme is “Where Southern
Coastal Seafood Meets Baja, California”
