Help Feed our DHS Cluster Kids Who Eat Free & Reduced Lunch

from Mayor Lynn Deutsch

2300 students in the DHS cluster rely on Free & Reduced breakfast and lunch. No school means no food and kids go hungry. Let’s partner with Malachi’s Storehouse at St. Patrick’s Church on N. Peachtree Road and help close the hunger gap.

Many community members have reached out wanting to help. We are working with Malachi’s Storehouse to provide non-perishable lunch items. We have several ways for you to help.

You can shop from our wish lists and have items shipped. Or you can drop off items on Tuesday between 4 and 7 PM at a location to be determined.

Items needed include individual packages of:

Peanut butter crackers
Applesauce or fruit cups
Granola Bars
Tuna/chicken lunch kits
Cookie packs
Raisins/dried fruit packs
Easy Mac Packs

We realize that DCSD has now issued their plan to provide sack lunch to our students at either Cross Keys High Schools or Sequoyah Middle School. We believe the location of these distribution points may prove to be too far for our families.
