Hottest Cardio-Based Workout Boutique Debuts in Atlanta

AKT, a new dance-cardio fitness concept featuring carefully curated playlists, high-energy music, disco ball bumping and a supportive community, will open in Atlanta on July 10. The new AKT studio at 1110 Hammond Drive, STE 5 will allow Sandy Springs and Atlanta residents to experience a full body workout that combines cardio dance intervals with strength and toning.

AKT has become increasingly popular because of its effective and fun dance-cardio technique touted by celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Shakira and Alicia Keys. Fueled by positivity, a combination of personal training and dance-cardio technique, each of the four class types – DANCE, BANDS, TONE and CIRCUIT – are kept fresh and entertaining since the choreography changes every three weeks. Each 60-minute, full-body workout class is designed to burn calories and strengthen and tone in an atmosphere that’s fun, exhilarating and results-driven.

AKT Perimeter is owned and operated by Atlanta native Suseen Gregor. Born and raised in Dunwoody, Gregor attended St. Pius X Catholic High School and graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati. After working as a public information manager with the Paralympics, she decided to pursue her career in sales for pharmaceutical and medical product companies. With a love of boutique fitness, Gregor found AKT in 2015 on demand and fell in love with the concept. When she was looking for a new business venture, she was immediately drawn to AKT. And after learning there were no locations in the greater Atlanta area, she felt the time was now.

“I first found AKT not as a business owner looking for an investment opportunity, but as someone looking for a fun workout that was close to home and could provide the results I was looking for,” said Gregor. “Now operating my own location, I’m excited to bring this sexy and fun workout to the Sandy Springs and greater Atlanta community.”

The four signature class types at AKT are as follows:
• DANCE alternates between choreographed dance sections and short strength intervals.
• BANDS is a class that alternates between functional cardio and longer strength intervals as members perform sports-based exercises with the stability of a box.
• TONE pairs full-body strength with isometric movements to burn out large and intrinsic muscles on every plane of motion.
• CIRCUIT combines plyometric full body power exercises with medium weight compound strength movements in 30 second and 15 second intervals.

To introduce residents to the new studio, AKT offers weekly complimentary preview classes for beginners to get a chance to try AKT BANDS & DANCE workouts in a special hybrid class.

AKT Perimeter will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. The studio can be contacted at 770-852-0958 and more information about the new AKT in Atlanta can be found at
