Week after week, they work hard through rain, sun, sleet or hail to complete a task important in a well-functioning society – garbage removal. In our current public health crisis, their role is even more critical.
Sanitation service is continuing as normal in DeKalb. The department is following all CDC guidelines for worker protection, but DeKalb citizens can help keep workers safe with two key tasks:
- After you push your roll carts to the street, sanitize the outside of the carts.
- Ensure all garbage is bagged and no loose garbage is placed in the green roll cart. This includes tissues, sanitizing wipes, etc. Big or small, bag it all.
Our Sanitation workers are doing their part to protect public health; please do your part to help protect them.
