Roller hockey is a fast-paced, action-packed sport for boys and girls. Checking or rough play is not allowed, with the emphasis is on skating, coordination and teamwork. The sport is played with 4 skaters and a goalie per side. There is no offsides or icing as in ice hockey. All practices are held at our covered inline hockey rink in Pinckneyville Park in Norcross, and games are played at Pinckneyville, Alpharetta, or Snellville. Street Cats is our street hockey program for kids ages 3-6 who are not yet ready for hockey on skates. Street Cats start out in sneakers, learning hockey skills like passing, shooting and defense. When they’re ready (and that time depends upon the child) we introduce skating as part of the practice routine. Kids can play the games in skates if they wish, and we often end up having games where half of the kids are on skates and half in sneakers. It works surprisingly well. Our goal is to introduce your child to the game of hockey, and have them skating by the end of the season.
