Family Fun & Food this Summer Includes Soccer Clinics, Pick-Up Games and More – Kicking Off June 17

ATLANTA (June 10, 2016) – Novo Cucina, restaurateur Riccardo Ullio’s third Italian concept located in Dunwoody, has partnered with Dragon Goal Atlanta to provide guests – for the first time in the United States – the experience of safe, supervised soccer fun on a turfed Dragon Goal field, while families enjoy dining at one of the Atlanta area’s best casual Italian restaurants.

Novo Cucina and Dragon Goal will get summer started with a kick-off event on Friday, June 17, from 5 to 10 p.m. when they partner with PlayWinGive to elevate the excitement of Dragon Goal soccer with fun prizes and activities such as soccer skills challenges, Soccer Ball Car video games, cornhole, soccer tennis and more. An event for all ages, world-renowned Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada, who guided his Primeira Liga side Maritimo to the league cup final against Benfica in May, will lead the games.

“Soccer is beloved and ingrained in Italian culture,” said Novo Cucina chef-owner Riccardo Ullio. “We are the first restaurant in the country to offer such an amenity, where families have the opportunity to play together, socialize and enjoy our cuisine while their children safely play soccer in the Dragon Goal enclosure.”

The supervised Dragon Goal field will be open daily and available for all ages during Novo Cucina’s daylight hours, from 11:30 a.m. until approximately 8:30 p.m., with special activities, including:

  • Grand Opening on Friday, June 17, from 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday Happy Hours from 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Monday and Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. – Soccer Clinics and half off bottles of wine for mom and dad
  • Viewings of the Copa America and Euro Cup soccer games
  • Options to reserve the Dragon Goal space for private groups and tournaments

“We are thrilled to see the Dragon Goal vision take shape in the form of a partnership with one of our favorite Italian restaurants,” said Dragon Goal founder and managing director Nicola Vidali. “With hundreds of temporary and permanent installations in Atlanta, we are steadily indoctrinating Atlantans into soccer culture. To date, we have reached tens of thousands of Atlanta youth and adults, all while continuing to help children in lower income areas access this life-changing sport.”
