Rescue Coordinator & Marketing Specialist

Purpose: The Rescue Coordinator & Marketing Specialist will work alongside the Executive Director to manage logistical operations of Bagel Rescue including route coordination, communications, and partnerships. The candidate will execute social media and support general marketing for the non-profit.

Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinate bagel routes using volunteer portal and communicating with bagel shops, volunteers, and partner agencies.
• Drive routes as necessary throughout metro Atlanta, many of which will start from Brookhaven.
• Execute social media posts on all Bagel Rescue channels; includes ideating post ideas, graphically designing them, drafting content, and posting.
• Support marketing efforts including fundraisers and donor and volunteer appreciation initiatives.
• Facilitate scheduled Bagel Rescue workshops in the community.
• Attend community events as a representative of Bagel Rescue.

Core Competencies:
• Excellent and effective communicator in writing, on the phone, and in-person
• Flexible thinking and able to handle many moving pieces
• Collaborative, positive, and passionate about addressing food waste and food insecurity
• Technologically savvy
• Skilled in social media platforms
• Basic graphic design (preferably using Canva)
• Valid driver’s license and personal insurance

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
• 20 hours a week – The exact schedule will vary week-to-week and will require flexibility to adjust schedule as demands require. Some weekend hours included occasionally.
o Approximately 5-10 hours driving routes, attending events, or securing supplies
o Approximately 5 hours on social media (work from home)
o Approximately 5-10 hours on other tasks (work from home)
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs of bagels and move them in-and-out of cars/freezers/delivery locations.

Opportunity Benefit: The Rescue Coordinator & Marketing Specialist will be involved in every aspect of Bagel Rescue from operations and development, to business and finance. This part-time role will give hands-on experience working in the grassroots non-profit hunger relief space. This position offers exposure in multiple areas of the community that intersect to make food rescue a reality. In addition to gaining organizational and logistical skills, the role grants creative collaboration on marketing, social media, and event-based projects. The Rescue Coordinator and Marketing Specialist reports to Executive Director and the Bagel Rescue Board of Directors.
