Corona fatigue looks to be real based on last week’s survey results. 35% of survey respondents said they would travel in the Continental U.S. during 2021. Almost 25% said they plan to travel outside the U.S. The even more interesting data was how many people plan to travel with or without a vaccine…evenly split with 31.58% for each. 19% said they would only travel by car and only 12% do not plan to travel in 2021.
These results are consistent with what the data is showing with the increase in airline bookings (click here for TSA numbers) and people reaching out to travel professionals. More people are thinking “Book Now, Travel Later”. This is a smart mentality with the vaccine in the works. Book now to capitalize on lower than normal pricing, then travel later.
Good To Know For You Future Travelers…
Delta is doubling down on being the airline that cares about you the most. They have extended their no change fees for travel booked by Dec 31, 2020. Even more impressive is their extension of blocking middle seats through March 30, 2021. Whoever is in charge of strategy at Delta is a genius because their approach has certainly solidified my loyalty!
Delta Deals…
The below deals on Delta are unheard of during the holiday season! Usually by this time these routes have been driven up in price due to the fact that it’s peak season in these destinations!
- Atlanta to Turks & Caicos (departing anytime mid-Dec on thru Dec 31: $438 or 34,000 miles (including departing Dec 25 and 26)! **This is crazy good for this island during peak holiday season!
- Atlanta to Miami, FL (Dec 19-23): $271 and $302 for after Christmas dates (The Keys is a 1.5 hour drive from Miami).
- Atlanta to Denver (Dec 23-30): $226-266 **crazy good! (higher pricing for departing after Christmas, but still lower than normal
- Atlanta to Salt Lake City (Dec 23-30): $438 **crazy good! This is the airport for skiing in Park City and Deer Valley.
