White Christmas at City Springs – Audra’s Review

We took this photo early! All the seats behind us were FULL when the show started!

My brother and I have season tickets to the Fox Broadway Series.  We love theater!  We may have to switch our season tickets next year to City Springs.  The commute….so close to home.  The parking…..FREE.  The restaurants walkable to the theater…..AMAZING.  Bathrooms at intermission…..plentiful.  The view from every angle…..GREAT!  Plus I felt super safe being so near the SSPD!

Hubby and I tried to get a reservation at our fave Sandy Springs restaurant, The Select…but alas we waited too late.  We headed to Sandy Springs really early in hopes of snagging a 5:30 table anyway.  No such luck.  Back up plan time….Flower Child (which we LOVE).  We finished eating in plenty of time to explore so we peeked in at the Vietnamese Restaurant down the way and it is BEAUTIFUL on the inside and smelled so good.  We’ll go back another day.

Meanwhile we meandered around and were amazed at the beautiful lights and holiday decor.  There we so many families walking around and tons of people ice-skating.  There were even professional carolers singing Christmas songs…it really is a magical atmosphere.

Getting into the Byers Theatre was a quick breeze through security.  We had a quick drink at the bar then headed to our seats.  I was thrilled to be on the first row of the balcony (pretty much my fave seat at most theaters).  The theater is very intimate and well designed.  I’m not sure there’s a bad seat in the room!

We loved the show…here’s what it is about:  “Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” and the perennial title song, WHITE CHRISTMAS is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages. Based on the classic Paramount Pictures 1954 musical film!”

We are already planning our next date night at City Springs…..I’ll be checking their calendar often!  Thank you City Springs for giving us 2 tickets to check out White Christmas and the City Springs Theater experience!

There are shows through Sunday!  Get your tickets here.
