Woodhouse Day Spa – an impromptu review from Audra & Peggy

Woodhouse ExteriorI rarely take time to go to any spa…I just don’t have time!  However, when the Woodhouse Day Spa invited Peggy and me to come check out their gorgeous new facility and try a few treatments we jumped at the chance!  It was a tough day at work for sure…HA!

First of all we both love the location.  It’s at Perimeter Mall but in a side/back entrance next to Sephora with stress-free designated customer parking!  You can run into the mall for errands before or after if you need to, or you can pretend you are nowhere near the mall if you don’t feel like shopping!

Secondly, the spa is gorgeous and smells DSC_0004wonderful.  The decor is peaceful and serene with calming neutral colors and beautiful dark wooden doors everywhere.  The staff greeted me warmly and then a concierge walked me to the luxurious and modern locker room.  They provide soft fluffy robes and rubber sandals.   I decided to lock up my purse and cell phone in the electronic combination locker during my visit.  Putting my phone behind lock and key for two hours was a heavenly experience in and of

itself!  After putting on the super comfy robe we were led to the “Quiet Room” with plenty of relaxing chairs, magazines, fireplace, and soft light.   There’s plenty of cucumber flavored water or hot tea.

I had planned for a “balancing yoga massage” but failed to follow instructions and wear loose fitting yoga clothing.  My masseuse (Chandra) adjusted plans on the fly and performed a combination of deep tissue and yoga massage.  It was clearly one of the best massages I’ve ever had!

Peggy thoroughly enjoyed a 50-Minute Volcanic Stone Massage.  This was a full body massage using hands and warm volcanic stones to soothe muscles, improve circulation, and induce relaxation.  The warmth and pressure of the stones completely soothed her and she did not want it to end. Peggy will definitely book this again and likely for a longer session.

DSC_0011Chandra handed me over to Olivia for my second treatment, a lavender and seaweed sugar scrub pedicure.   Turns out Olivia is from Selma, AL…not too far from my hometown of Opelika so we had a nice time chatting about growing up in a small town.   The chair Olivia directed me to didn’t appear to have a normal pedicure well beneath so I was shocked when she gently rolled my chair back and voila …hot bubbling water was beneath my toes.  Woodhouse has plenty of these hi tech pedicure chairs that also recline and provide heat and massage.  I’ll definitely go back with more friends next time!  I usually bring my own polish for pedicures but this time I chose one from their stylish selection.  I picked an awesome beachy turquoise color that I love.   Peggy chose a springy bright blue and also thought the chairs were super cool!

Woodhouse Day Spa originated in a real “wood house” in Victoria, TX.   Our Dunwoody location is their first in Georgia but they have several throughout the USA.  Woodhouse is the epitome of a day spa and Peggy and I would highly recommend this spa for anyone wanting to “escape” for an hour or an afternoon!  We will definitely be going back!

Woodhouse BannerKeep in mind that they are running a special for Aha! Subscribers through the remainder of April – $35 off a massage or a facial or $20 off a manicure or pedicure.   Both Chandra and Olivia also told me about package deals whereby you purchase x number of treatments and get y free…ask for details when you book your appointment!
