Once We Were Brothers….could not put it down
2 Book club picks – both are gripping and set in cool/ fall landscapess!!
“The Lifeboat” by Charlotte Rogan (lots to discuss w the despair of the human spirit)
and “Burial Rites” by Hannah Kent (also a heavy discussion, haunting and conflicting)
you won’t be disappointed!!! 🙂
I just read Walk to Beautiful which is by Jimmy Wayne Barber a country singer. Though not super well written I loved the true story and the power of the human spirit to overcome. You can read more reviews on Amazon etc. but it would be a good discussion book for upper middle class Dunwoody and the difference one person can make in the life of another.
Once I got into it, I really like the Judy Blume book, “In the Unlikely Event.”
