Breakfast Review: Thumbs Up Diner

Well, I’ve got one kid we call the “Burger Boy” and another that I’m afraid is destined to become “Breakfast Boy”.   Breakfast Boy and I enjoyed our local breakfast last week at Village Burger so much that we’ve been discussing his future as a breakfast critic!  Well, we dropped Burger Boy off at the airport at 7 AM for his week long mission trip with the Dunwoody Methodist youth group and decided we would head over to the Thumbs Up Diner in nearby East Point since we were already up and hungry.  It was delicious!  We arrived about 7:30 to an almost empty restaurant but when we left people were lined up around the corner to get in!  My brother lives nearby so he joined us.  Below are pictures and descriptions of our fantastic breakfast!  Thumbs Up diner gets 6 thumbs up from the three of us!  If we had 10 thumbs we’d have raised all 10!

Wings and Waffles
Breakfast Boy: Wings and Waffles:  Smoked wings served with a delicious Belgian waffle with Vermont maple syrup, and scrambled eggs with cheese.
southwestern scramble
Breakfast Brother: Southwestern Eggs:  Scrambled eggs rolled in flour tortillas with cheddar jack cheese and black beans. Topped with guacamole and pico de gallo. Served with spuds and a side of salsa.
Greek Scramble
Me: Greek Scramble:   Three eggs scrambled with onions, spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese. Served with toast or multi-grain biscuit. (It comes with black olives but I left those off.)

I’m going on a diet when school starts so we’ll have to take a hiatus from all these food reviews for a while.  Enjoy them while they last!
