The DeKalb County School District has set a ceremonial groundbreaking date for the future John R. Lewis Elementary in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven Tree Ordinance 101

With Spring fast approaching, the City would like to remind residents of Brookhaven’s tree ordinance.

A tree removal permit is required to remove any tree greater than 6 inches diameter at breast height (DBH). To determine a tree’s DBH, measure the diameter of the tree trunk at 4.5 feet from the ground.

Six Brookhaven suspects in custody; stolen vehicle, items returned to victims

Six suspects are in custody and a stolen car and other items have been returned to victims following two separate incidents of what Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura called acts of “great teamwork.”

Hundreds of pounds of crystal meth, drugs found in Brookhaven apartment

Drug agents raided a Brookhaven apartment and said they found hundreds of pounds of drugs inside.

DEA agents, along with Atlanta police, went to the Sierra Terrace Apartments off of Buford Highway Tuesday morning.

Inside, authorities said they found the equivalent of around 300 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, weapons and cash. 

The DEA estimated the street value of the drugs at at least half a million dollars. … Read More »

Brookhaven’s ‘Sexually Oriented Business’ Case Reaches Supreme Court
