by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection
This post isn’t meant to be political in any way. There’s so much talk lately about the Omicron variant and the lines at the Viral Solutions for tests and boosters blocking major Dunwoody roadways that I thought I’d share my recent experience.
My first two Covid vaccinations were Moderna. The second one made me extremely sick for about 4 days. Aches, pains, didn’t want to get out of bed, etc. I survived and life went on.
I have two auto immune disorders so I relied on my Doctor (the amazing Lisa Lefkovits) to advise me when to get a booster and which one. She waited about a month after my physical, read more research, and decided she preferred the Moderna for me again so I obliged.
I made an appointment for 11:40 on Sunday, 12/19 at the Dunwoody Walmart. The lines were long and a “drop-in” booster seeker in front of me was told it could take at least an hour. He left. I had an appointment so my paperwork was done prior to my arrival and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Just so you know….I woke up in the wee hours of Monday with a fever, aches in all of my joints and only my third migraine ever. One is too many. But now I’m feeling fine…thank goodness!
Peggy used Viral Solutions for her Moderna booster and her 9-year old sons Pfizer Covid vaccinations and both experiences were quick and easy though she did have appointments both times. However, on my way to Walmart I noticed Viral Solutions customers were blocking traffic at both their entrances. I’ve since read information about Viral Solutions turning away people without appointments. This helps with traffic so if you plan to go to Viral Solutions, Walmart, or anywhere…I’d suggest you MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IN ADVANCE. Also, don’t forget your vaccination card if getting a second shot or boosters.
