Brookhaven college football pep rally cut short by fire

BROOKHAVEN, GA (CBS46) –

DeKalb fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that occurred Saturday evening.

The fire took place at a home in the 1100 block of Wimberly Road in Brookhaven.

There was a large event taking place at the private home when it happened.

West Nile Virus reported in Ashford Park

The City of Brookhaven Parks & Recreation Department reports they have been notified by the DeKalb County Board of Health that a mosquito collection from a DeKalb County Board of Health’s sampling station which is located in the Ashford Park area, has been reported as positive for West Nile virus (WNV).
