Traffic operations at the Tilly Mill Rd/North Peachtree Rd. intersection on Wednesday, October 21st between 10am – 2pm to facilitate some preliminary utility relocation work.

Northridge Road/Ga. 400 project end delayed

The commuters’ headaches caused by nearly two years of work on Northridge Road at Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs were expected to end this week, but due to rain in the past week, the project has been delayed.

Mount Vernon and Spalding Drive intersection open

Cars and other vehicles can once again travel through the intersection of Mount Vernon and Spalding Drive in Sandy Springs, but lane closures will continue for the next few weeks, city officials said.

A detour went into place in April as crews began work to re-align the intersection and add traffic signals, all a part of an operational and safety improvement project, the city said in a press release.… Read More »

Repairs to Begin on Major Perimeter Intersections

Intersection crosswalk repairs will begin on six major intersections within the Perimeter during the first week of July, weather permitting.
The first intersection under construction will be Perimeter Center Parkway at the Dunwoody MARTA station entrance.
Work on the following crosswalks are to follow:
* Ashford Dunwoody Road at Meadow Lane
* Ashford Dunwoody Road at Perimeter Center West
* Ashford Dunwoody Road at Ravinia Drive
* Ashford Dunwoody Road at Hammond Drive

Georgia DOT Restricts Construction-Related Lane Closures Statewide During 4th of July Weekend

To ease 4^th of July holiday weekend traffic congestion, the Georgia Department of Transportation is suspending construction-related lane closures on interstate and major state system highways beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, and extending until 5 a.m.,
Monday, July 6.

GDOT: Avoid using I-285 if you can over weekend (Metro road work list)

The Georgia Department of Transportation is asking drivers to avoid non-essential travel on Interstate 285 during the June 12 weekend due to projects that will likely cause delays. Construction delays are also possible in other areas around Atlanta.

Several projects will require lane closures, GDOT said in a prepared statement.

Planned work includes:

  • Striping on I-285 southbound will require up to three lane closures from Chamblee Tucker Road to East Ponce de Leon/ Church Street continuously from 9 p.m.
