by Lauren Townsend for The Aha! Connection

Adorable! You just have to go to The Ginger Room. Treat yourself and your friends to an afternoon tea or lunch experience. And it is an experience; Sitting in one of Alpharetta’s oldest (and cutest) homes, with mix-n-match teacups and saucers and a tower of tea-time treats. I called and made reservations for afternoon tea, so what you see pictured is just that.… Read More »

Graduation Gift Guide- We have some ideas for you but would love more!

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

It is definitely Graduation Gift Season!   I’ve been told that everyone likes CASH (or gift cards);  that girls love anything monogrammed; and that everyone likes memorabilia from their college destination!

I asked some close friends with recent graduates about suggestions for monetary amounts.  I asked them separately and they both told me the same thing:

  • For a relative or close dear friend:  $100
  • An average amount:  $40-$50
  • For someone you don’t really know but are friends with their parents and they sent you an invitation:  $20-$25

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

Having my home, deck, driveway, and walkways pressure/soft washed has turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving.  Chris and Daniel from Alpha Clean performed the work the day before I left town for a much needed 10 day “spring break”.  My hubby and I LOVED the new clean look but I didn’t have time to write any notes before I left town. … Read More »

Travel Tuesday with Danielle ~ NYC and Europe/US Travel Updates

by Danielle Garrett of PlanIt Itineraries for The Aha! Connection

NYC: There’s been a lot of talk and speculation about NYC and the future of their city’s tourism.  A little too much doom and gloom for me!  Yes, NYC will be different, but we are dealing with an entire post-Covid world of “different”.  Not a reason to take NYC off your list! … Read More »

Kim McGrady ….Let’s honor him with white mailbox ribbons

by Audra Hurston Anders for The Aha! Connection

As I type these words, I’m sitting in a beach chair under an umbrella listening to the Sea Grove beach waves.  To my left is an enormous red waving flag.  I will forever think of Kim McGrady whenever I see red beach flags.  I’ve known Kim’s wife since high school and attended Auburn University with both Kim and Leigh Anne.  … Read More »

3/31:  It seems like a good day for melted cheese.

3/30:  I feel like people don’t use polenta enough as a side dish. Instant polenta takes about three minutes to cook. If you get it precooked, in the tubes, it actually takes longer but you less likely to burn yourself on bubbling molten polenta.… Read More »

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

I have been so very fortunate to have been given several opportunities lately to visit local businesses and participate in fun programs that are still “social-distance friendly”.  Last week was no exception.  This time, Peggy and I decided to take my hubby with us!  We laughed, learned, laughed more, chopped, laughed, sauteed, sneaked bites of Manchego cheese, laughed, cooked, ate and laughed even more!… Read More »
